Ding Ding Ding…Round 2

Thought I would check in with everyone and let you know how I am doing.

As of yesterday, I have started another round of Chemo.  I will continue for 2 weeks and then get a week break.  The first round was pretty uneventful, so I am hopeful that this one will be too.  All the prayers seem to be working thus far, so please keep them coming.  I also appreciate all the funny snip-its people have sent over the past few weeks.  I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed laughing at them.  I’ll see if I am smart enough to figure out how to post some of them here. It’s not fair that I get to laugh and you don’t, right??  I might have to consult with my brother Matt or Sis-in-law Blyth.  Tech stuff sores over my head.

I had my cousins in town last week (Rae and Jae) with their kids and had such a wonderful time.  We had originally planned a trip to Philly this summer and with everything going on were a little to scared to commit to being that far away for that long a time frame.  So, the cousins came to see me.   I tell you what– I’ve had a lot of time to think this summer and I don’t understand why we don’t see the people we love more often as we get older.  Life gets so busy and before you know it, it’s been “way too long” since you saw someone.  These times need to be planned just like a regular day.  And when they do actually get planned–make sure you do it.  Life goes by too fast.

I wanted to take a minute to ask for additional prayers, but not for me.  I don’t know if any of you have seen on the news about a Durham man who went missing on Monday, but he was a priest at All Saints Church (my parents church that I have been attending).  He went out to the store for some lettuce and never returned.  I met Kent the first time I went to visit the church with my folks.  He was the first person I  met walking into the church and I just remember he and his wife being so kind and welcoming.  They talked about how they were praying for me and just knew I would get better…and I didn’t even know them.  They are a beautiful couple that has been torn apart by something very tragic.  Kent is still missing and he and his family need prayers big time right now.  Please add them to your prayer list.  It has been a hard few days hearing about this for me and I barely knew them–I cannot imagine the pain and sadness his family feels.  Tragedy’s like this puts life in perspective fast.  I am sure all of them would appreciate the prayers.

I’ll keep you posted on my situation over the next few weeks.  I hope to be back at work pretty regularly in the next few weeks.  I return to the MD on the 21st for blood work and more shots!! YEA! Just trying to figure out how to work without watching my life fly by.  Not an easy task.

Love to you all!

Tracey

  1. Tra:
The girls and kids had a great time at your place thank you for the hospitality! We will say a prayer for the safe return of Kent and of course wish you well also on your quest to rid yourself of this unwelcome visitor!!!

  2. Hi Tracey! It’s me (Susan Burke) from PG Afterschool! I have been reading your blog and have really enjoyed your candor and sense of humor so much. You are a special person and I, too, have been praying for you. You have made us all take a look at our lives and stop to think. We all think of Anson as one of “our’s” and will continue to pray for you and all your family. Hugs and love!

  3. I am so glad to hear you are doing good with the chemo. I have been praying and thinking about you.
Life gets in the way of doing anything special for you; but, I think the prayer helps! I hope Anson is ready to go back to school, and that
All is going to be good for you in the coming months!
